It's a great tool for finding out about anything by just entering in some data on a search bar. Heck that's how I found my girlfriend!

What a great invention for those of us wishing to find useful facts about the area of which we live in, our cities and sometimes even our neighbors. Just the other day I was looking up some facts regarding my home town when suddenly I caught a glimpse of my next door neighbors name. I clicked on the link and low and behold found out that she used to be a professional wrestler and was inducted in the hall of fame. Needless to say I sent my two daughters over to to get her autograph. I now use it daily to locate any other former celebrities in the neighborhood, thanks Jimmy Wales you made my down time at work fun time!

Wikipedia is a great source of information from the banal and mundane to the esoteric and exotic. What makes Wikipedia unique are, among other things, the ability to find the narrowest of information on the narrowest of topics, that other encyclopedias may overlook. However, the danger in Wikipedia is that there is no accountability for the accuracy of the information presented, and entries can be altered or present incorrect information or "facts" maliciously. I've found numerous instances of incorrect facts, or stupid, irrelevant insertions within entries. So caveat emptor -- take all entries at Wikipedia with a "grain of salt."
Also, try Citizendium.com -- a peer-reviewed version of the online encyclopedia with fewer glitches and less prone to tampering and malicious, incorrect content.
